A week from today, on Monday 2 June, my life will be taking a slightly new direction as I begin working for digital marketing agency, Inbox Digital.
Inbox are an award-winning digital marketing agency specialising in online advertising and viral marketing. They have an impressive list of clients including names such as Vodafone, BMW, Panasonic and AOL.
Needless to say, I am very excited about this new venture, although it does represent something of a change for me. Without doubt, I’ve come into the industry via the creative route but have always carried strong technical skills with me. This new job is an entirely technical role so I will be putting to one side my creative background and focusing on technical disciplines.
I’m obviously happy with this change otherwise I wouldn’t be doing it, but I’m currently drafting a post taking a closer look at the web design industry’s tendency to silo the creative and technical roles.
However, from a personal point of view, I’m not going to lose my interest in creative design, and the fact that I will be in an incredibly creative environment working on projects for big brands means that this can only be a beneficial experience for me – and hopefully will result in lots of juicy material for this blog.
All the very best for the new job Aaron!
A big congrats, Aaron! I hope it works out brilliantly for you.
Did you apply or were you headhunted? The latter wouldn’t be a surprise.
Tracey, David – many thanks for he kind words.
David, I did apply for the role but the position I’d applied for had been recently filled so I think they reasoned that they’re growing fast and perhaps find it quite tricky to fill vacansies, so created a role for me.
Created your own role, eh? You’ll soon be running the show.
This time next year, Rodney
Last week I asked the question on Twitter, “What HTML element do you use for each line of a form? P, DIV, or something else?” So, how do you do your forms?
This years season of 24 ways article has come to a close and with it a reoccurring theme of controversy has arisen: designing in the browser. I offer my thoughts on why it misses the point.
The problem with CSS pre-processing frameworks is that they don’t really fit within the average web designers’ work flow. So I built an extension to LESS for creating cached stylesheets your PHP projects can use.
Are you a web designer or are you a web developer? Let me guess, you are a bit of both. Does that mean you are “doing it wrong”?
If you’re like me then your life revolves around email. Unfortunately the grip that email now has on all our lives creates as many problems as it solves. Learn how I control my Inbox.
“Oh no! It's the @github unicorn JUST when I need to so some forking!”
