From my point of view I would say that when I receive a brief I would love to know a bit about client expectations of the website. How many contracts break down after the initial design phase because of the 'Psychological Contract' being broken. So often the client will trawl the Internet looking for the cheapest designer and then complain massively when the design doesn't include 12 months of SEO work post build. I think it is very important to lay this stuff out prior to commencement, it saves disappointment and can help to maintain the designers reputation in the long run.
